24-year-old Erasto Sanchez has been charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Obstruction, and Burglary.
According to the Bradenton Police Department, Sanchez was waiting for his ex-girlfriend and mother of their two children when she arrived at her home in the 2200 block of 6th Avenue East in Bradenton just before 8am Monday. He then grabbed the victim by the hair and began stabbing her.
The victim managed to flee the house to safety.
Sanchez fled the scene in a taxi. Detectives were able to contact the taxi driver, who led them to Sanchez's location in Palmetto.
When deputies arrived, Sanchez fled on foot and was tracked down by a sheriff's K-9 unit and arrested.
