VENICE, Fla. -- A construction worker at the new Tervis Tumbler expansion site suffered severe head trauma Thursday after a high fall.

It happened around 10am Thursday on Triple Diamond Boulevard in North Venice.

According to the Venice Police Department, the worker was about 20-25 feet up and had reportedly unhooked his safety harness to move to the next beam when he fell, suffering head trauma when he hit the ground.

He was flown to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton for treatment.

The worker's name has not been released.

Earlier this month, the company broke ground on a new 24,000 square foot innovation center at the site.

We'll update with more information as it comes in.

[A previous version of this story incorrectly reported that the worker has died.  There has been no confirmation of that.]
