SARASOTA, Fla. - The polar vortex is bringing freezing temperatures to every state but Hawaii. It's been a nightmare for anyone looking to travel, as commuters are stranded on the roads and on the tracks.

500 Amtrak passengers were left stranded overnight outside Chicago when their trains

became trapped by blowing, drifting snow.

Air travel is no better. Jet Blue has cancelled all flights at four major east coast hubs for Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the deep freeze is shutting down schools and icing fountains in the deep south.

Those travel problems include locally as well. So far Tuesday, Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport has cancelled eight flights, and others have been delayed.

Over at Tampa International, more than 20 flights have been cancelled, with many more delays.

Please remember to check with your airline before heading to the airport.
