NORTH PORT, FL - More tests reveal no noticeable health concerns at Lamarque Elementary School in North Port.

"I'm very mad." Parent Cara Wilke says she should have been told about health tests at the school, tests being done because staff members continue to complain that something in the 7 year old building is causing them to get sick. "My daughter has been sick for a month. It would have been nice to know that there are other people going through the same thing. That maybe we needed to look at the source of the problem which could possibly be the school."

The Sarasota County School District and Ken Macci with the Florida Department of Health say so far there is nothing to tell. "I found nothing to indicate that there was a corrosive drywall issue. I performed an indoor air survey. The parameters I found were all within reason."

The district has spent more than a quarter of a million dollars looking into the issue. A 140 page study conducted by OHC Environmental Engineering did find traces of some sulfides in the drywall.

Our expert Jack Frost with Drywall Science agreed with the study's findings that it's pretty normal. "There are some 30 different volatile gasses and organic compounds in very small quantities from drywall."

The school district says they also know they do not have tainted Chinese drywall. There are claims that some American products could also contain larger amounts of corrosive and harmful gases and perhaps tests for the Chinese drywall will not detect it.

Frost says there is yet to be any link. "There has never been a confirmed case of American drywall that exhibits the same symptoms as defective Chinese drywall."

The school district says they're not done though. They're now bringing in toxicology experts from the University of South Florida, testing the water supply, the roof for leaks and mold, and the buildings slab to make sure nothing is getting in from the soil.

At least now parents like Cara know. "I truly believe there is something at the school that is triggering this response out of all these different individuals."

The school district says they will be conducting a teleconference for parents to listen in and ask questions next Tuesday night at 7pm. Parents should receive a call on how to participate.

Mr. Frost we invite you to get off of your ivory tower and go out into the neighborhoods, to see your "first live case" of American Drywall with Chinese drywall characteristics. Mr. Hummer has a living laboratory in his home and US Gypsum, he also has the names and addresses for multiple others, some with National Gypsum grid marks drywall. How you can make that blanket statement and then call yourself an expert, makes you totally lose any credibility with any of us who are out there trying to help people..

"Pretty normal", while I respect Mr.Frost and his associates who have been involved with the drywall disaster as have thousands, he has a Company and a Patent pending I believe on sulfur measurement.. There is absolutely a Documented American Drywall case. We have one. This testing done by the Domestic company themselves and also a Group of Engineers and Scientists that are affiliated with USF. Our symptoms were identical to Chinese Drywall. We have a Black AC Coil, etc...and suffered Brain damage, a stroke, coughing blood, nosebleeds and a windpipe that was almost swollen shut. If any Parent would like to see our testing, our Narrative from the Engineering firm and Lab that includes the CPSC ID Criteria, we would gladly show them. We are NOT saying that drywall is causing this but it is a Possibility whether it is Domestic or Chinese. If you have testing in front of you with those numbers , you have an issue. Multiply it by cubic inches. We have not commented on this issue until now because Mr.Hummer was handling the situation but for it to be stated that there has never been a confirmed case of Contaminated American drywall is incorrect. We also have an Epidemiologic report from the C.P.S.C that specifically includes the Domestic name, barcode, and Diagnosis...poisoning. This after they were in our home. I wanted a Health Official to comment as to this situation and one has but there most certainly is something to tell, as it relates to our situation. I will let the rest of the Hundreds of Domestic Drywall victims speak for themselves. You did not really hear about it because it did not get the attention, so to speak ,like the Chinese drywall did as to litigation. There were and are real cases. Those folks have Children also. We simply ask that Lamarque continue with this and protect the Children/Staff and really listen. I will add that Florida /Citizens/our County/Testing as deemed our house worthless, polluted and Carbon Disulfide, is a Neurotoxin.
