NORTH PORT, Fla. - A Venice motorcyclist had to be airlifted to the hospital in a crash Tuesday after eyewitnesses say he and another rider were seen driving erratically.

It happened just before 5pm on Toledo Blade Boulevard in the area of Price Boulevard.

According to North Port Police, multiple eyewitnesses say the two motorcycles were driving erratically and at one point were driving the wrong direction on Toledo Blade.  That's when one of the drivers lost control and was ejected from the bike in a parking lot.

The other motorcyclist fled the scene.

24-year-old Craig Fox was flown to Blake Medical Center for critical injuries sustained in the crash.  He was not wearing a helmet at the time.

Charges are pending.

There is no description available for the other motorcyclist.
