ENGLEWOOD, FL - Englewood detectives are working three separate vehicle burglaries at area beaches in which credit cards were taken and used elsewhere.  Detectives need assistance to identify two different people who have used the credit cards.

During the month of July, three separate vehicle burglaries have been reported at both the main Englewood Beach and at Stump Pass Park.  Two of the burglaries occurred at the first part of the month while the third occurred last Wednesday.

In all three instances, the victims returned from their time on the beach to find their vehicles ransacked and re-locked.  The property being targeted includes cell phones, iPods, other electronics and wallets or purses.  In all three cases, credit cards in the wallets or purses were used very shortly after the burglaries would have happened.

In the cases reported on July 8 and 9, a female, described as being either white or Hispanic and between 38 to 45 years of age, used the victims’ credit cards at various businesses in both the Englewood and Port Charlotte areas.  In the case reported on July 24, a white male between the ages of 38 and 45 used the victim’s credit cards at businesses near the beach as well as other businesses where the female used cards earlier in the month.

Anyone with information on the vehicle burglaries or the identity of either suspect is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
