NORTH PORT - An investigation is under way in the death of a North Port teen.

Approximately 12:30pm Saturday, North Port Police officers responded to the 6800 block of Kappa Place in reference to the death of a 15-year-old male.

The victim has been identified as Joshua Tyler Hill.

Hill's father Daniel told investigators that he had been outside mowing the yard when he went inside to get Joshua, who he says was in the bathroom taking a bath.

After getting no response from Joshua, Daniel says he picked the lock on the door and found Joshua lying on his side in the tub, halfway submerged and unresponsive.

He pulled Joshua out and performed CPR.

Joshua was taken by first responders to Sarasota Memorial Hospital North Port, where he was pronounced dead.  No suspicious trauma was reported by investigators.

This case is pending further investigation.
