NORTH PORT, FL - Another Sarasota County city is expected to grant unmarried couples the same rights as those who are married.

In less than a week, the North Port City Commission is expected to approve a domestic partner registry that will allow unmarried couples to have rights related to health care decisions, funeral arrangements, emergency notification and more.

The registry could prove beneficial for a wide range of people, including seniors.

7 South Newsroom Reporter Josh Taylor will bring you the story.
