NORTH PORT, Fla. -- City commissioners in North Port have voted to buy Sarasota County's share of Warm Mineral Springs.

The county wants more than $2.5 million for its half of the 81-acre landmark.

If the ownership dispute is not resolved, the springs could close again on August 31st, when the current short-term agreement expires.

The county agreed to sell the springs after an agreement between the county and North Port couldn't be reached on a long term management plan.
