SARASOTA, FL - Firefighters come to the rescue of 9 cats trapped inside a burning home Tuesday evening.

It happened just after 6:30pm at a home on Breakwater Circle in the Gulf Gate area of Sarasota.

Sarasota County firefighters say the fire started in the kitchen and quickly grew out of control.

The owner and her son managed to get out safely, but firefighters had to go in the home after their nine cats.

All were rescued from the burning home unhurt.
