SARASOTA - Despite a rainy weekend, Nik Wallenda took to the high wire to practice for his upcoming Grand Canyon walk. But Monday he'll take a much deserved day off.

Sunday's practice got cut short by the weather. Wallenda stepped off the wire after lightning threatened the area.

Aafter signing some autographs, he and family and crew jumped into the lake at Nathan Benderson Park for some fun.

His Grand Canyon event will take place on June 23rd.

Until then, you can watch him practice through June 19th. Tuesday through Saturday he practices at 10:30am and 6pm. And on Sundays he practices at 3pm, with Mondays off.

Nathan Benderson Park is located on North Cattlemen Road south of University Parkway.

The entrance from Honore is closed, so you must enter at the North Cattleman Rd entrance.
