SARASOTA COUNTY - Longboat Key is getting its Publix supermarket back. But they may not recognize the new one.
The store closed in April to be converted into a prototype grocery store. Some of the new features will include prepared food, organic and specialty items not found in other Publix stores.
The grocery chain says it is the first of its kind in Southwest Florida and only the second in the state.
The doors reopen Thursday morning at 8am.
