PALMETTO, Fla. -- Weather has pushed back the opening ceremony and inaugural game at the new Little League fields at Blackstone Park in Palmetto.

The event was originally scheduled for last Tuesday, but was rescheduled for this Tuesday night. The ceremony will start at 6:30, with the first pitch at 7.

This comes after a year of construction as part of a more than $3 million project at the park, located on 14th Avenue West.

Among other things, the finished results of that project offers, lighted fields, covered dugouts, batting cages, plus a new concession stand and press box.
