New Charlotte County civilian gun safety course slated for January

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will be holding another Civilian Gun Safety Course in January to promote handgun safety.

The class is scheduled for Saturday January 25, 2014 from 8 am until 5 pm at the Sheriff’s Office Training Building at 25500 Airport Road in Punta Gorda.  You can register for the course online at www.ccso.org/PublicInterest/cgscApplication.cfm.  Further information about the course is also available at the location.

You will receive a confirmation of your registration when the application process is completed.  The cost of the course is $35, payable by check or money order to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

You will need to bring your firearm along with 50 rounds of ammunition (no reloads).  Completion of this gun safety course can meet one of the requirements for a concealed weapons permit.  Hearing and eye protection will be provided.
