SIESTA KEY, Fla. -- The problem of traffic congestion on Siesta Key will not be solved in the immediate future, but a new bus service may help reduce that traffic just a little.

Starting this weekend, the public bus will now go from the Westfield Southgate Mall at Siesta Drive all the way down Siesta Key to Turtle Beach. That includes a stop at Siesta Village as well.

We went down to ask some Siesta Key locals how they feel about the new stop.

“I think we need less automobiles and more public transportation and use of services that are here on the key."

"It’s a great way for people to come and visit the key and get around. I think it would alleviate allot of the congestion and traffic on the key."

Those new routes will start around 8am on Saturday.
