SARASOTA COUNTY, FL. - There are developments in the murder of a Charlotte County firefighter from last August.

ABC 7 has learned that murdered firefighter’s wife was arrested Thursday on burglary charges in connection to the case.

41-year-old Danielle Dreher is charged with burglary and larceny. Her boyfriend, Michael Minor, is charged with the murder of her estranged husband, Sam Dreher.

According to a Sarasota Sheriff's report, Danielle Dreher and Minor plotted to break into her husband’s car and a friend’s home to obtain items she believed her husband was hiding from her.

It was while Minor was said to be breaking into Sam Dreher's car outside a Sarasota apartment that Minor confronted Dreher. Police say that's when Minor shot and killed Dreher.

Detectives were able to uncover the burglary plot through text messages the two suspects exchanged.

Danielle Dreher is being held at the Sarasota County Jail without bond.
