MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. - All lanes have reopened and traffic is clear now on I-75 in Manatee County after a load of mud spilled onto the roadway Tuesday morning.

It happened just after 9am around mile marker 215, that's between the State Road 70 (#217) and University Parkway (#213) exits.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the back gate on a southbound dump truck was not securely closed, resulting in mud spilling across 640 feet of roadway.

All lanes were closed and traffic was utilizing the emergency lanes to go around the clean-up.

The driver of the truck, 52-year-old Richard Ford of North Ft. Myers, was charged with Failure to Secure Load.
