Motorcyclist dies after crashing head-on into dump truck 0 comments

MANATEE COUNTY - A Palmetto motorcyclist is dead after crashing head-on into a dump truck.

It happened Tuesday around 9:30am at County Rd. 675, N. of Rye Rd.

49-year-old William B. Bierbaum of Palmetto was traveling on his Harley Davidson southbound on CR 675 in the southbound lane, north of Rye Road. 40-year-old Spencer Taylor of Parrish was a dump truck northbound on CR 675 in the northbound lane, north of Rye Road.

As the 2 vehicles approached each other, Bierbaum drifted from the southbound lane into the northbound lane. His motorcycle collided head on with the dump truck.

Bierbaum died from injuries. He was wearing a helmet. Taylor was not injured.

No charges will be filed.
