MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. – Instances of wild hogs invading residential neighborhoods are a story we are hearing more and more on the Suncoast, and a problem that is growing across the state.

Here on the Suncoast, reports of torn up yards are coming everywhere from Lakewood Ranch to Venice.

ABC 7's cameras caught up with a property owner in Ellenton who had to call a trapper this past weekend. “Just digging big holes, tearing up the yard. It's kind of hard to mow…off road,” says Chris Conway.

While it is legal to hunt hogs year round on private property, that doesn't help much in a residential neighborhood. In those cases the hogs must be trapped first.
