MANATEE CO., FL - Several drug overdoses and deaths are being blamed on heroin use.

Recently, local law enforcement officials told ABC 7 that they are seeing a rise in heroin use here on the Suncoast.

There may be several factors driving this resurgence, and there are concerns it could pose a public health risk.

ABC 7 Reporter John McQuiston is covering the story.
