SARASOTA COUNTY - The Sarasota Police Department says an undercover investigation lead to the arrest of a North Port woman who was trying find someone to do her dirty work.

The police report reads like a scene out of a movie, saying "Janeene Jones wanted to hire a hit man to commit two homicides."

Another line says "Jones, drew out a diagram of the victims residence and wrote out personal information about the victim."

The report went on to say Jones set up a meeting with the hit man, who turned out to be an undercover officer.  "During the meeting the female suspect explained in detail how she wanted to murder to happen.  She gave a picture, the name, gave where they lived, and how to go about finding this person," says Officer Deniro from the Sarasota Police Department.

And Jones didn't stop there.  "She said to the our undercover officer posing as the hit man, that she would like the body moved because it would be less messy, and the less messy the better," added Deniro.

The report says that Jones intended to be on a cruise when the murder happened to provide an alibi, and the she didn't care that the victim's 11-year-old daughter may be home when the murder happened.

Officials say Jones paid the officer $4,000 for the first murder and made arrangements to meet up again for a 2nd hit.  But, what's even more shocking is who she wanted to kill.  "One victim was her tenant and the other was her now husband," said Deniro.

ABC 7 was unable to get in contact with either targeted man, but we did find out that her motive to murder her tenant could be the result of a civil suit he filed against her.  According to the police report Jones said he's "costing her a lot of money and that Chamberlain knows way too much."

Regardless of the motives, Officer Deniro says there is a silver lining.  "The good thing is the Police Department, our officers from the narcotics unit, jumped right on it and was able to stop something very bad from happening."

Jones is currently being held without bond at the Sarasota County Jail.

Officials are also investigating reports that she may have been involved in the death of her previous husband, Max Jones, under "suspicious circumstances".  Reports indicate that Janeene Jones received a large life insurance payout from his death in 2011.
