BRADENTON, Fla. -- The sale of land owned by the Manatee County School District is set to close this week.

According to the Bradenton Herald, the school board approved the sale to a developer in Bradenton.

The two pieces of land include 10 acres near Braden River High School, and almost two acres near Bayshore High School.

The sale of the two land parcels will net the district about $3 million. The district has factored the money from the sale into the 2014-15 school budget.

The developer wants to build a shopping center on one of the parcels.
