(WWSB) - A local organization that helps recently released inmates is facing trouble again.
The Bradenton Bridge program could be closing. The program received a reprieve from the state of Florida five months ago to continue operations.
However, they may be closing on July 1st because funds are not earmarked for the program for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. The organization functions as a transition and work release facility for female prison inmates. It helps those individuals get back on their feet by offering useful counseling, classes, and employment opportunities that are difficult to come by elsewhere.
This is the third time the Bradenton Bridge has faced closure.
