MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The U.S. Postal Service sorting center in Tallevast could shut down by next summer.
The facility is back on the postal service's deactivation list. If it closes, mail would be processed at centers in Fort Myers and Tampa.
The facility near the Sarasota-Manatee International Airport employs about 300 people.
Last year, the location was on the closure list, but Congressman Vern Buchanan rallied to keep it open.
