Man wanted for armed robbery, domestic violence

SARASOTA - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, working in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested a wanted felon known for gun violence.

Deputies found 20-year-old Jadavian Shird at the Budget Inn Motel, 8100 North Tamiami Trail.

He was arrested on Tuesday without incident at 1:40 p.m.

Shird was wanted for armed robbery with a firearm and domestic battery by strangulation, but is now facing new charges for attacking a former girlfriend and threatening her and three other women with a gun Sunday night.

Shird is being booked on the outstanding warrants and charged with one additional count of Domestic Battery by Strangulation and four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. He has been arrested four times for similar violent crimes in the past three years.
