ENGLEWOOD, FL. - An Englewood man is in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle while on his moped.

It happened Tuesday around 7:20pm at Gladstone Blvd. and Rockwood Way.

88-year-old Hartford Henry was traveling south on Gladstone Blvd approaching the intersection of Rockwood Way. 24-year-old William Bersch of Englewood was going north on the right edge of the pavement of Gladstone Blvd crossing Rockwood Way.

Henry attempted to make a left turn on to Rockwood Way, but failed to yield the right of way of Bersch and struck him. Bersch was ejected onto the pavement, causing head injuries.

Both vehicles were moved from final rest prior to arrival.

Bersch was taken to Blake Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

Charges are pending.
