Man dies after crashing car into pole

SARASOTA COUNTY - A motorist was killed in eastern Sarasota County after crashing their car into a pole.

It happened Friday around 4 am on State Road 72 about 26 miles east of the Clark Road exit of I-75.

Emergency responders say the car crashed into a pole, and the driver was killed instantly.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause. They have not ruled out the possibility that heavy fog played a role in the crash.

I seen this van on a tow truck getting on I-75. My heart instantly fell to the floor. My condolences to the family.
