Local Leaders Speak at Boot Camp for Women Entrepreneurs

SARASOTA, Fla. – Dedicated to advancing and strengthening the lives and livelihoods of women in the community, the Women’s Resource Center of Sarasota County is hosting the 2013 Women Entrepreneurs Boot Camp on Saturday, April 13 from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lido Beach Resort.

This daylong seminar will feature guest speaker Felice Schulaner, executive director of the Coach Foundation and former senior vice president of human resources for Coach Inc., a multi-billion dollar global accessories company. Schulaner will discuss her own corporate experience, workforce issues women face and gender differences in business.

A panel of three local business leaders will also discuss their successes and struggles. This group includes Roxanne Joffe, president of CAP Brand Marketing; Charlene Lenger, founder of Tropex Plant Sales; and Rebecca Smith, president/founder of The A.D. Morgan Corporation.

Breakout sessions will be held on marketing and branding, social media, financials, the business plan, funding sources, tips on selecting a professional team and the importance of an elevator speech. Presenting experts include Cookie Boudreaux, partner/senior consultant at Mark Kamin & Associates, Inc.; Angela Massaro-Fain, president/founder at Grapevine Communications; Andy Fox, owner of The Fox Business Group, LLC; Beth Ebersole, CPA/ABV at Kerkering, Barberio & Co.; Michele Grimes, Attorney at Law at Williams, Parker, Harrison, Dietz & Getzen; Autumn Kindelspire, content strategist at atLarge, Inc.; and Betsy Zackrison, founder of Coaching for Success.
