SARASOTA - The attorney for convicted murderer John Lee says she may withdraw from the case so she can testify on his behalf during a hearing request for a mistrial.

According to our coverage partners at the Sun Herald, Lee's attorney Carolyn Schlemmer told a judge she has nearly 20-objections to the guilty verdict. She says during his trial, witnesses were coerced by the prosecution.

Lee was convicted in March in the double murder of Traci Nabergall and Jason Salter. The judge said he would set aside two days for both sides to present their case by August 12th. Then he will determine if a mistrial should be declared.
