SARASOTA, Fla. - As you may have heard Wednesday will my last day at ABC 7 before I head to California to join my fiance and our families. While it's a joyful time in my life, it's certainly bittersweet to leave my friends here and a community that is dear to my heart.

So Monday I said a few goodbyes. It started with an early morning visit to our friends on the Jones and Crane morning show.

Thanks to the sneaky talents of Christina Crane, we successfully managed to surprise David Jones during their morning show on 107.9 WSRZ. Jones and Crane put smiles on the faces of Suncoast residents in the morning, including mine, and are always helping out around the community.

It was a pleasure when we all had the opportunity to work together. But today it was time to say farewell. "This is a wonderful surprise...sad to see you go."

So after a few photo ops we were off to grab breakfast at one of my favorite spots: The Toasted Mango. The food is great, but the service with a smile is even better.

But it's not just goodbye to the wonderful people on the Suncoast, it's goodbye to some of the best views around. I of course will miss my evening runs on the Ringling Bridge and watching the boats speed by through the bay.

I've said a few thank yous and a few goodbyes, but there's someone on the Suncoast I've always wanted to meet and never had the opportunity…Snooty! All 1,200 pounds of cuteness. And while people aren't allowed to pet Snooty, the aquarium director made a special exception for this Snooty fan. I even got him to blow a kiss…kind of.

Snooty came to the Suncoast in June of 1949 when he was just 11 months old. Spending his whole life as the center of attention, it's easy to see why he's such a ham for visitors. Lucky me.

Hi Lauren, my 15 year old son will really miss you!
    P.S. I will too ;D

You have touched so many lives! My son started watching you on the news two years ago when we moved down here from Massachusetts. The highlight for him was to meet you and he proudly hangs your autographed picture on his wall. The highlight for me is that after watching you every night on the news, he realized that behind your stunning and beautiful looks, you are a very smart, professional and down to earth person. You have inspired my son so much, that he took a class in journalism and he did very well! But shhh, he'll be sooo upset with me if he knew I told you this! ;)
Have a great new adventure in California!!
