SARASOTA – ‘Twas two nights before Christmas, and all through the malls, everyone was stirring, as they played Santa Claus.

Many shoppers will wait until Monday even, but this weekend we still saw many stores packed with people trying to check off their Christmas lists.

Many stores extended their usual Sunday hours, since it was not a usual Sunday. And even if the real last minute shopping comes Monday, people at stores had plenty of company Sunday.

“I shop at this plaza probably two or three times a week, and I’ve never seen it this busy in the last probably four years,” said shopper Siobhan Young.

“Everyone’s pretty casual, everyone’s been pretty nice. The stores are full, but they’re not angry shoppers,” said shopper Joey Panek.

Stores will stay open fairly late Monday. Most Walmart stores close at 8pm tomorrow, Target stays open until 9pm, and K-Mart doesn't close until 10pm.
