SARASOTA, Fla. -- The legal battle continues over a proposed Walmart near downtown Sarasota.

The owners of a 9-acre parcel of land on Ringling Boulevard wanted to sell it to Walmart, but in February 2013, the city refused to issue permits to build the store in that location.

That ultimately terminated the contract between the property owners and Walmart.

According to the Herald Tribune, the owners have filed another lawsuit to challenge the ruling to prevent Walmart from going up at that site.

The city rejected the proposed store10 after residents in the neighborhood objected to the plan.
