Lakewood Ranch Park getting upgrades

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Improvements are underway at Lakewood Ranch Park.

The park is located on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, between Lakewood Ranch High School and the YMCA.

Manatee County Parks and Recreations is excavating a new storm water pond. Also storm water piping is being improved along with a new parking area.

Officials also want to add a pavilion and additional restrooms.

The improvements are expected to be complete this fall.

    I understand that Lakewood Ranch is refusing to take County funds to build a library because they don't want any other County residents to use it? Why is Lakewood Ranch doing that? Are they better than the rest of the County?
    Fortunately the County has said no to their selfishness and told them that County libraries are open to all.
