NORTH PORT, Fla. (WWSB) – Dutch, the K9 officer, successfully tracked and located his first missing person.
The North Port Police Department received a report of a missing 73-year-old woman in the area who was lost and who suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Officer Chad Walker and his K9 companion, Dutch, responded to the call. Having only joined the force a few months back, this was Dutch’s first missing person case.
The rescue was a success. Dutch tracked and located the woman who was found lost, confused and stuck in a barbed wire fence in the North Port Estates area.
“She was very happy to see us,” reports the NPPD on a recent Facebook posting.
It is unclear how the woman got stuck. She is currently receiving treatment by North Port Fire Rescue and deputies say she should recover just fine.
