MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. – In an update to a story that we have been following for the past year, we are now getting word that a judge is holding up a decision to euthanize two dogs that attacked a 13-year-old boy in East Manatee County.

The two Australian Shepherds named Buck and Bill have been the subject of a lengthy legal battle in Manatee County.

Their owner has been fighting the decision to kill to the dogs, even offering to move them out of state. The owner says she is filing an emergency appeal to stop Animal Services from putting the dogs down.

In December 2012, the 13-year-old victim was stopped at an intersection on his bike when he says the dogs rushed up to him and started to bite him. "I was hoping they were friendly, because I could not out-ride them. They just started to attack my legs," he told ABC 7.

Justin says the dogs jumped on his back and he fell to the ground. He sustained several bites to his legs, and required several stitches.

"A judge?" Does this judge have a name? If he or she believes they are doing the right thing they should have the courage of their convictions and step up. Nobody else is hiding. Who is it?

I applaud the judge's decision. I know the man who rescued the victim - had this man not been driving by at the time, those dogs would likely have killed that little boy. Dogs should not bite - and they certainly should not attack. Those fighting for these dogs need to put an equal emphasis on HUMAN life. They should take a moment to consider this - what if it was YOUR child who was viciously attacked by neighborhood dogs? I, personally, would put the life of a child first.

Please represent both sides of the story!!! These dogs have shown absolutely no signs of aggression in well over a year of captivity. Do the responsible thing and do your research before portraying these loving animals as "attacking" the boy. Find out an report how these dogs were illegally seized. Produce some hard evidence, other than hearsay, of the alleged attack. These two dogs do not deserve to die!!!!!

Supporters of Buck and Bill need to get on the phones/email/fax all the parties involved. This includes the governors office, judges involved, local officials, animal shelter and every news agency possible. Please be aware that you will probably have to leave messages as many of these "people" have stopped answering their phones, closed the lines/offices in an attempt to dodge people opposing this murder. The numbers are available, either on line or on the Facebook page Stop Buck and Bill from being killed. Time is essential here & the murderers must be stopped.
