There are two things we can count on this time of year. Anticipation of a new football season, and anticipation of a new iPhone.
And like last year, and the year before, and the year before that, rumors and supposed photos of a new iPhone are showing up everywhere.
The folks at TMZ have some. The website claims the device was smuggled out of a factory in China. You can't tell much about the device until you see it up next to the current iPhone 5s.
For months its been rumored that the new iPhone will come in two sizes. The current iPhone has a 4-inch screen. Most believe the new phones will be 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches. The 5-and-a-half inch screen would be larger than the Galaxy S5.
Perhaps the best and most probable photo of a new iPhone comes from Taiwanese celebrity Jimmy Lin, who posted a selfie holding what he said is the new iPhone 6. It appears to be larger, with the volume and on-off switch on opposite sides, and it has a more rounded back.
Why is this photo more probable? Lin posted photos last year of an iPhone 5c before it was introduced. so, there may be some truth in these photos.
Forbes suggests the new iPhone will offer improved battery life.
We do know what to expect with the release of iOS 8. Apple has already told us it will feature a new package of health apps, improvements to organizing photos, notifications, group sharing, and a better keyboard.
While Apple hasn't announced a date yet, it's usually in September or October.
We won't have to wait much longer.
The Wall Street Journal has reported that once the new iPhone is released, Apple might discontinue the iPhone 5c.
