Improvements coming to Tamiami Trail south of Gulf Gate

SARASOTA, Fla. – Residents can learn more tonight about a project that plans to improve a stretch of U.S. 41 in South Sarasota.

The Florida Department of Transportation plans to re-surface the roadway, and add sidewalks, lighting and drainage improvements from Gulf Gate Drive to Vamo Road.

A public meeting on the project will take place Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant at 7950 S. Tamiami Trail from 5 to 7 pm.
