NORTH PORT, Fla. - A judge will not decide until next month if the names of North Port Police officers who are under investigation should be released.

A judge will be getting a sealed file on April 4th from the North Port City Attorney that contains those names. The officers are part of an ongoing investigation into actions surrounding a reported forced sex act on a woman while at a party earlier this month.

One of the cops may have been on duty at the time.

Public records advocates on the Suncoast say the City of North Port is illegally withholding the names of police officers.

A judge will decide if that is the case after reviewing the city's file.
