NORTH PORT, Fla. (WWSB) - The Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast is getting very close to purchasing a 5 thousand acre piece of land in North Port.
The North Port land called Orange Hammock Ranch is currently undeveloped and the group wants to purchase the land to ensure that the land stays undeveloped.
The owners are asking for 20 million dollars, but the deadline is fast approaching and the foundation still needs to have their funding lined up.
"The owners are giving us some clues that they are willing to extend if we show significant movement.", said a Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast spokesperson. "Those two words are a little bit vague."
The deadline to purchase the piece of land has been set for October 4.
