SARASOTA COUNTY. Fla - Sarasota county commissioners accept the report but hold reservations as far as approving recommendations.
Commissioners say they needed an independent review of how growth pays for itself. Also trying to review the county's 2050 plan which looks to handle growth mainly east of I-75.
The $90,000 report by Laffer Associates was handed over to the county this week. Slow growth advocates say the whole thing is pro-development. Saying it suggests development should not pay a thing.
County leaders say they have given the report to staff and are asking them to come back with how recommendations could be implemented.
We will have much more on this story coming up this evening at 6pm on ABC 7.
