SARASOTA – In this time of year full of holiday cheer, falling gas prices might put even more smiles on the faces of many drivers.

Gas prices have dropped by nearly 12 cents over the last two weeks. The latest Lundberg survey reports that the average cost of a gallon of regular is now $3.26. In the last 11 weeks, gas prices have fallen by 58 cents a gallon.

Publisher Tribly Lundberg says lower prices at the pump will not likely continue. She says we can expect to see an increase of five or 10 cents per gallon soon, due to increasing crude oil prices.

And remember, you can always find where the lowest gas prices on the Suncoast are with our "Pump Patrol" feature on our website.
