BRADENTON, Fla. – In a major development in the Rod Frazier case today, the former Manatee High School assistant football coach will avoid jail time after he was accused of inappropriately touching students and staff.

Frazier pleaded “no contest” Wednesday morning to four counts of battery and two counts of interfering with a student's attendance.

He has been sentenced to six months of house arrest, three years probation, and will be required to complete 90 days of an offender work program.

An investigation was launched last year into Frazier’s actions at the school, in which there were accusations of inappropriately touching a female student.

The Frasier investigation also expanded into investigations into several school administrators, accusing them of covering up Frazier’s actions.

ABC 7’s Bobeth Yates will have more on this story coming up on ABC 7 News at 5.
