SARASOTA, FL--  Independence Day celebrations will be taking place up and down the Suncoast.

The annual fireworks show at Sarasota's bayfront is expected to cause some traffic delays.  Bayfront Drive in Sarasota will close at 7:00PM from Gulfstream Avenue to Orange Avenue.  It will remain closed until 10:00PM.  The parking lot at Bayfront Park and Island Park will be closed once it reaches maximum capacity, but the Palm Avenue garage has 700 free parking spaces-- but expect some delays when exiting that area due to heavy traffic.

In Bradenton, you can expect big crowds to gather for the Pier 22 4th of July fireworks.

Farther south in Charlotte County, the annual Charlotte Harbor Freedom swim takes place at noon today -- and the day ends with a fireworks show over the harbor.
