Former police detective hired by Manatee Co. School District

MANATEE COUNTY, FL - A former police detective has been hired to lead the Manatee County School District's investigative unit.

Troy Pumphrey, a former police detective in Washington, D.C., comes to the district from his current position as a senior investigator for the Florida High School Athletic Association.

The school's investigative unit has not been operating since January, when their offices were closed during an investigation into former Manatee High  assistant football coach, Rod Frazier. That Investigation was picked up by
