SARASOTA COUNTY - A man was arrested Tuesday after leading authorities on a chase, and ultimately, crashing into a ditch.

Around 5:00 Tuesday evening, deputies assigned to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office TAC Unit located a wanted felon, who was driving a vehicle that had been reported as stolen.  The suspect tried to flee in the stole vehicle traveling east on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Way.  The suspect lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road, and into a large ditch.  Deputies apprehended the suspect, shortly after he tried to flee on foot.

The suspect is identified as 21-year-old Cody Reed.  He's arrested on two outstanding warrants and grand theft auto.  Additional charges related to the fleeing and crash of the vehicle may be filed.

Reed is being treated at a local hospital to be evaluated for injuries suffered in the crash.  He will then be sent to the Sarasota County Jail.
