VENICE, Fla. - A neighborhood lake is the scene of a massive fish kill in Venice on Ginger Road.

That’s located just west of Tamiami Trail just south of the merger with the Venice Bypass.

A family living near the lake claims county workers sprayed the pond last week and the fish started turning up dead over the weekend.

They say birds, including osprey, pelicans and vultures are eating some of them.

There’s no official word yet what killed those fish, although some speculate it could be from the cold weather.
