SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - A bit before 9am Wednesday morning an unwarned waterspout formed in Sarasota Bay. ABC7 Titan radar picked up this echo of the cell as it moved on shore.
The rotation in the cell produced a radar signature called shear that is visible as the series of small dots below.

Florida weather is a leader in waterspout production and they often can spin down with little or no notice. If they move over land they are reclassified as a tornado.
