Fire displaces Bradenton family

BRADENTON, FL- Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire early Monday that left a family homeless.

It happened at the Mermaids Manor mobile home park off 14th street in Bradenton.  Four engines and one ambulance responded to the scene.  Smoke and flames were seen when crews arrived. The fire was brought under control within minutes of getting there.  Two mobile homes were damaged, but only one was a total loss.  No reported injuries, but a family of 5 was displaced.

The Red Cross is helping the family.  No word on what sparked the blaze.
