FHP: 4-year-old thrown from vehicle after woman falls asleep at wheel

PALMETTO, FL. - Three people, including a 4-year-old, have been hospitalized after a vehicle crash in Palmetto.

It happened Wednesday around 7:20 am at Buckeye Road and 31st Terr. East.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Brianna Solis of Palmetto was driving westbound on Buckeye Road approaching 31st Terr. East. She fell asleep behind the wheel while driving, and the vehicle struck a curb, went airborne and then overturned into a ditch.

Solis and a 4-year-old child were ejected from the vehicle. They were found outside the vehicle next to the passenger side door by EMS on arrival. 20-year-old Carlos Vasquez was inside the vehicle.

All three were taken to Bayfront Medical Hospital in serious condition.
