MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- State transportation officials are looking for feedback on the future of the Cortez Bridge in Manatee County.

The Florida Department of Transportation is conducting a study on the bridge from Gulf Drive to 123rd Street West. Next week, transportation officials will talk to residents about whether they'd like to repair, rehabilitate or replace the two-lane bridge.

FDOT is considering adding a drawbridge or building a high fixed bridge over the waterway.

The meeting will be an open house format, where people can ask questions and give opinions.

It will be on Thursday, August 28th from 4:30pm to 7pm at St. Bernard Catholic Church activity center, located at 248 S. Harbor Drive in Holmes Beach.
